Do I need anything besides The Catalyst?
A TopstepX account and your own ProjectX API Access subscription from Topstep — $29/month, or $14.50/month with Topstep's permanent promo code “topstep”. You paste your API key into The Catalyst once. One heads-up: Topstep bills that subscription as “Sim2Funded Solutions” on card statements, so don't mistake the charge for fraud.
Is my API key or trading data sent anywhere?
No. The Catalyst is local-first: it runs on your PC, and your credentials and trading history never leave it. The only hosted piece is subscription billing, handled by Stripe — our servers never see your API key or a single trade.
Does it place or manage trades?
No. It's a read-only monitor. It watches your fills, balances, and rule limits through the API and alerts you — it never places, modifies, or closes an order. Everything it shows is informational and statistical, not financial advice.
Is this allowed by Topstep?
The Catalyst connects through ProjectX Gateway — the same public API that Topstep sells API Access subscriptions for — using your own key, running on your own PC, monitoring only. It's an independent third-party tool, not affiliated with or endorsed by Topstep.
Which accounts does it work with?
Topstep Trading Combines (50K, 100K, and 150K), Express Funded accounts, and practice accounts — every account under your login, side by side, each with the real trailing Max Loss Limit math for its type.
How does the free trial work?
Create an account, then start your 7-day trial whenever you're ready — everything included, no card required, and the clock only starts when you click. If you decide not to subscribe, live tracking simply pauses; nothing you recorded is lost.
What happens if I cancel?
Your data stays yours. The app keeps opening, and every page stays readable from your PC's own records — only live tracking and account syncing pause until you resubscribe. You can cancel any time from the account portal.
